Makayla is something

I wanted to say this little miracle baby is something.When I got pregnant with her my Lupus was in a so so stage.I had some issues and almost lost her but here she is.My Mom said I needed something to focus on and make me want to get better.All of my kids make me feel better but this one is different.She has a contagious smile and a laugh that makes you smile.She knows just when I need a hug and a snuggle.Lately she has become very independent and talks like no tomorrow.

What we have been up to

I have been feeling a bit better and feeling like maybe just maybe this flare is almost over.The sun was out so I took Miss Mack out shopping.She needed some new boots and some new underclothes so off we went.I am so glad she is like her Mamma and loves to shop but wont buy things at full price.She got a new Edison Jr set and some sweet boots /half price I might add).
Makayla shopped for chocolate.We got done and in the car just as it started to pour down rain.

It is time ..

To get out the coats and boots and put away the flipflops.

being from South Texas It amazes me that I have to drag this stuff out before the end of August.It has been in the low 50's at night and lows 60's in the daytime with alot of rain and wind.Living on the waters edge makes it feel colder as well.

Saturday night cocktail

Alot of people go out for drinks or cocktails on saturday night but not me.Nope.
I stay in for mine and things is I get it every saturday no matter what.It makes me sick and is supposed to make me feel better.
I dont know but somehow methatrexate(mild chemo) and feel better do not go together

My Awesome Hubby

I dont post alot about my awesome hubby and I have no idea why.He is the greatest. He is funny and silly.He is a great Daddy and hubby.He shops,washes clothes(I dont even know how to operate the washer). He puts the girls to bed and takes Makayla every morning to daycare. The most awesome thing is he never ever complains. He never sleeps in and rarely goes out with out us.

Deanna and her first Day

Ok these are a little late as you know how teens can be..
She is in her 2nd year of high school here in Denmark.Next year she will graduate.She goes to HTX and her main school supply list was a laptop.I gave her my old MacBook and she is learning to use it now.She is also taking driving lesson as you have to be 18 to get your license here.I am very proud of her since she only arrived in Denmark in the summer of 2006 and is fluent in Danish and doing well in school.Now if only she could find a job :D

First Day of School

I am so proud and a little sad.I know in The USA(where I am from) kids start school at 5 but here they start first grade at 7.Mackenzie aka Mack is so eager to learn and we try hard to help her.She can read in 2 languages and speak 2 fluently and one a little bit.She is also our geek child.She loves anything computer/geeky.She recently got a Droid and decided it was boring LOL.
I think her favorite thing ok I know it is her favorite thing is Zebra's first then geek toys.She is also riding the bus for the first time as well and that makes her seem more grown up.Here is my first grader in her first day of school with her Ju Ju Be bag waiting for the bus.

MRI FAIL.....

Well I was scheduled for a MRI this afternoon and it was a major FAIL.I am claustrophobic and need to be sedated.Hubby took the day off and we went to the hospital as planned.They called me in and talked to me and explained the meds and how I would not be able to drive etc.So they give me a shot and say this will make me sleepy and all relaxed."whistle while we wait " :)
"So Melissa how do you feel?
Fine
Can we start now
NO
Ok one more shot is all we can do.One usually knocks a grown man out.Here goes the shot and you should be relaxed soon.How are you feeling now?
Fine
Can we start now?
NO WAY"
You see I am a freak or something as the shots had no effect what so ever.So now we wait until they can get me in at a different MRI facility.

The things we see...

I love where we live and the fact that summer brings all kinds of boats and people to our area.On saturday we went to Sønderborg for a walk on the harbor there.They have an awesome ice cream boat and the kids love it.So off we went.While walking on the pier we saw a boat and 2 girls/ladies aged about 20sih.Now people that sail hang flags etc from the mast ropes but what we saw here made me do a double take and then LOL really I did

A little pity party...NOT

the last few months/weeks have been rough.My Ra is Lupus are running amok in my body.I have been told it will only get worse and I wont be doing alot of things I love.My shoulder might not be able to be fixed and thats ok,I will just learn to be left handed.I am on the strongest treatment now and let me tell you I have the bruises to prove it.I jsut started on Methatrexate shots since the pills well they made me sick.The problem now is my car is a standard and automatics are hard to find here.I fall alot so I do not go out walking alone (which I love) and miss is alot since we live at the beach.
BUT
I will not let this get me down.I have 4 wonderful daughter,3 of which are still at home.They need me and I need them.I have an awesome hubby who does more than his share of working,shopping,cleaning etc and never ever complains.So I am off to read,play with my kids and watch yet another episode of Dora.Ohh and a good thing about the meds is since it is a mild chemo I dont have to shave as often woohooo

Yippie Do Da

Well one week left until school starts :)
I love my kids I really really do but they love school as well.
I love the face that Deanna goes to school and it is like American College classes.She is not gone all day every day but gets classes and time for exercise and fun.
Mackenzie goes to school until 12:45 then after school care aka fun,playing,art class,wood working etc.
Makayla aka Stinky goes back to private daycare at spider daycare
They have so much fun there and she loves Kim and Kate.
As for me well we are just waiting for the MRI and seeing what can be done on my muscle issues
